About us
The Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries is a key player in Switzerland’s university landscape. The members of the Consortium include all cantonal universities, the ETH Domain, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education and the Swiss National Library. Other institutions from the fields of education and research as well as from the public sector are customers of the Consortium. The Consortium was launched by the Conference of Swiss University Libraries (KUB) as a national project in 2000 and received fifty per cent of its funding from the Swiss Confederation. Since 2006, the Consortium has been funded in full by its members and customers. At the beginning of 2020, the Head Office of the Consortium was transferred from the ETH Library to SLSP AG.
Core task
The Consortium’s core task consists in licensing of e-resources (electronic journals, databases, eBooks) for its members and customers. Moreover, the Consortium Head Office organises workshops and information events on current topics. Further services are specified in the service contract with SLSP AG.
